Projecte Equilibri, Spain

Adjoining the spectacular Sierra de Tramuntana UNESCO World Heritage site in Mallorca, the Projecte Equilibri farm has 110 hectares under cultivation and 65 hectares of forest.

Together, we are working to develop a flagship project.

Our world-changing goal is to create a model in which the producer takes responsibility for creating a fairer, healthier and more productive relationship with the ecosystem that supports a working farm.

We aim to demonstrate the economic value of a transition to Precision Apiculture that promotes the local bioeconomy and creates a more sustainable local food system.

The World Bee Project and Projecte Equilibri will introduce advanced sensor systems to monitor hives on the farm and connect them to the World Hive Network©. The goal of this ambitious project is agricultural and educational but by contributing real-time data to the World Hive Network database, it will also make a significant contribution to the scientific study of bees and their ecosystems.

We aim to launch a series of workshops to give both locals and the global community the chance to see how combining cutting-edge technology with best-practice ecological farming can translate into sustainable farming that models best practice land management.
